JAMB UTME subject combination for all courses: Before applying for admission into any university in Nigeria, it is very important that you know the correct JAMB subject combination for your course. The reason is because, if you make a mistake in your subject combination, there might be no other chance for you to correct the mistake. Thus, before choosing the subjects you want to take in JAMB examination, you must have asked all the questions you want to ask as regards the your course. Also, it is deemed that you already know what all the subjects you chose are about.

Basically, What i will be disclosing today is the list of courses approved by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and their respective subject combinations. In light of that, i enjoin every student who do not know the correct subject combination for his or her course to quickly search for the course in this page and check the correct subject combination listed below it. This will not take much of your time. Trust me; it is for your own good.

What you should do before choosing your courses

I was tempted to just share the list of courses approved by JAMB and their subject combinations. But that will be very bad of me as a student advocate because, there are many mistakes students make when choosing their courses and it is my responsibility to advice you not to make those mistakes or probably proffer a solution that will help you circumvent them. So without wasting your time, below are some of the things you should have at the back of your mind before choosing your subjects for JAMB examination.

Never allow someone to choose your courses for you:

This biggest mistakes you don’t want to make when JAMB Registration starts is to ask someone to help you choose your subjects. If you do this, you are putting your admission this year at risk. I am telling you this because it happed to a friend of mine. In 2017 when took JAMB examination, a friend of mine made this mistake. He asked one of those agents that work in JAMB Registration centers to help him register and select the subjects he will take in the examination. Unfortunately, when it reached to the exam day, he entered his JAMB Registration Number and was told that he only registered three subjects for the exam.

So you see, most of those people who work with JAMB don’t actually care whether what you registered is correct or wrong. They have many students to work for. So it is your responsibility to make sure that you correctly and successfully register the subjects you need during JAMB Registration.

Choose only the courses stipulated by JAMB:

Sometimes, students also make the mistake of choosing what is not mentioned by JAMB. If you make this mistake, then forget about gaining admission this year. No university will accept a student who didn’t register prerequisite subjects for a course. Take for instance, if a law aspirant goes ahead to register: English, Government, Geography and Mathematics and JAMB says that Literature is a must for law aspirants, there is no doubt that admission process for that student is already jeopardized.

Having known this, I enjoin you to choose only the courses stipulated by JAMB. Do not add your own course.

Are lawyers liars? See the truth as to whether lawyers are liars

You must take the same courses you choose now in post UTME screening:

While you are choosing your subjects, have it at the back of your mind that you will also take the same subjects in post UTME screening. In my opinion, make sure you choose only subjects you know very well (except where the subject is a must). But where you are given the option to choose between two or more subjects, choose the subject you know very well. It will go a long way to help you pass JAMB too.

Read your JAMB brochure before you choose any subject:

Another tip that will help you make the best choices when choosing your subjects is reading JAMB brochure before choosing. In case you do not know, the official JAMB brochure contains admission requirements for every course. It also contain the exact subject combination for admission into universities in Nigeria. There are many other advantages of reading your JAMB brochure. I personally recommend that you read it before registering for JAMB examination this year.
