Ole Miss Admission Requirements

There are many requirements from the admissions office for admittance into an institution. These requirements vary across institutions, but there are a few basic ones common to every institution. These are the few you should be more concerned about:

1. GPA requirements

2. Testing requirements, including SAT and ACT requirements

3. Application requirements

Before we go on elaborating on these requirements, let’s look at Ole Miss acceptance rate.

Ole Miss Acceptance Rate

For Ole Miss aspirants, the first thing to consider before sending in an application is Ole Miss acceptance rate. This will guide you into understanding the competition and hence preparing yourself to meet the requirements.

The acceptance rate at Ole is 88.1%. Implying that for every 100 applicants, 88 get admitted.

This means that the chance of not getting admitted is low. There’s an 88.1% chance of getting admitted once you meet her requirements.

Let’s get back to discussing her requirements.

Ole Miss GPA Requirements

Many schools stipulate a minimum GPA requirement, however this is frequently the bare minimum to submit an application without being rejected right away.

The only GPA criterion that counts is the one that will allow you to have a realistic chance of getting in. We do this by looking at the school’s current students’ average GPA.

Ole Miss expects you to have a 3.6 GPA and be above average in your high school class. At the very least, you’ll need a mix of A’s and B’s, with more A’s than B’s. You can make up for a low GPA by taking more difficult subjects, such as AP or IB.

This shows that you can manage more challenging academics than the ordinary high school student.

Ole Miss SAT Requirements

Each school has its own set of standardized testing standards. The SAT or ACT is required by most schools, and many additionally need SAT subject assessments.

In order to apply to Ole Miss, you must take either the SAT or the ACT. More significantly, you must do well in order to submit a solid application. Many colleges claim that they do not have a SAT score cutoff, but the fact is that they do. This is based on the average score for the school.

Ole Miss’ average SAT composite score is 1160 on a 1600-point scale. She is now competitive for SAT exam scores because of this score.

Ole Miss ACT Requirements

Ole Miss is unlikely to have a strict ACT cutoff, but if your score is too low, your application will be rejected. At Ole Miss, the average ACT score is 25. Ole Miss is Moderately Competitive in terms of ACT scores with this score.

In this section, two (2) SAT policies will be disclosed.

1. ACT Score Sending Policy

If you take the ACT instead of the SAT, you have a significant advantage in terms of how your scores are sent, which has a significant impact on your testing approach.

Here’s the deal: you have complete discretion over whatever exams you transmit to universities when you provide ACT results. You may take ten tests and just send the one with the best score. Unlike the SAT, where many institutions ask you to send all of your previous examinations, this is not the case.

This shows you have a better possibility of improving your ACT score than you believe. You should take the ACT as many times as possible to try to meet the school’s ACT requirement of 21 or above.

2. ACT Superscore Policy

Most universities do not superscore the ACT. (When you submit a superscore, the school takes your top section scores from all of your test dates and combines them to give you the best possible composite score.) As a result, most colleges will only consider your highest ACT score from one session.

We could not locate the school’s official ACT policy, implying that it does not Superscore. You can send Ole Miss your best ACT score, so you should prepare till you attain our recommended target ACT score of 21.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is Ole Miss a Good University?

Ans: “Ole Miss’s top majors are pharmacy and accounting, and
they place graduates well (almost always with 100% job placement upon graduation). Ole Miss is on the list of Kiplinger’s Best College Values.

2. What SAT score do you need for Texas A&M?

Ans: “1450 would be a good score with some extracurriculars. For application and other requirements, you can contact me. My students did their UG from the same university and easy to get into it. Need proper guidance.”

FAQs on SAT/ACT Score

3. What ACT Score Is Needed for A Full Ride to The UK?

Ans: first, congratulations on a fantastic goal! Every university is going to have a different threshold. In my experience, an ACT score of 32 is impressive enough to get universities in the US and the UK to look further in to the application.

A full ride is a solid investment on the part of the university, so Admissions Officers will need an application that kicks butt in more than just ACT scores.

That said, what’s fantastic about a threshold score like 32 is that once you’re in that zone, scores of 34, 35, 36 become within your reach. Devote your work to getting to this score and any higher score is possible.

If you find your score stuck in what I call the “Straight-A Student’s Swamp”: 27–30, it’s probably worth taking a look at actual Test Prep material.

The last additional note that I want to offer, especially if you’re past the 32 mark, is the mantra I teach all of my students from the first day of our work together: Aim for 2, get a 36.

The key to the ACT is to stay present with exactly what the question in front of you is asking—not the question your math teacher broke down with you in class one day or the strategy you used for the prior question—but the question you’re addressing in the moment. I hope this helps!”

Other FAQs on Ole Miss Acceptance Rate

4. How hard is it to get into Virginia Tech?

Ans: “According to US News and World Report, Virginia Tech has an acceptance rate of 67 %. So getting admission is hard. To increase your chances of acceptance, you’ll have to apply with a strong application.

Important components your application will be composed of are high school grades, ACT/SAT scores, IELTS/TOEFL scores, Letters of Recommendation, personal essays, extracurriculars, etc.

Look at the UniRely platform. Their mentors, already studying at your aspired universities like Virginia Tech, will guide you throughout the application process.”

5. Which is better, Ole Miss or Mississippi State?

Ans: “Ole Miss is more fun…All three of the Big 3 universities in State have improved their campuses…none more so than USM… but both State and Ole Miss went on a building boom.

A big reason is Thad Cochran was the chairperson of Senate Appropriations. He steered a lot of $$$ to the universities. All three have renovated their football stadiums.

State really needed to update Dudy Noble..for its prized team..baseball..With Ole Miss finally building a new basketball arena..it puts pressure on State and USM to do the same..USM really needs another building..hopefully Jay Ladner can deliver wins to make it happen.”

Personal FAQs on Ole Miss Acceptance Rate

6. Can you share your SAT score and the college you got into?

Ans: “1420/1600.

Applied to only 2 colleges: Stanford and Pomona College. Accepted into both.

In my case, test scores and GPA did not tell the whole story. I got 2 B’s, and the rest were A’s in all of high school. GPA’s were not weighted but I took honors and AP. My GPA was 3.9.

SAT: Low 700s and high 600s. Don’t remember which was Math and which was Verbal. Score is estimated. We are talking close to 40 years ago.

Aside from GPA/Test scores, I was a star track athlete (national age group record holder), an accomplished musician in 3 instruments, and a published writer and poet.”

7. What is the SAT score required to get into Harvard?

Ans: As Ross points out, elite private colleges like Harvard rejected people who were high school valedictorians with perfect SAT scores.

About 50% of the applicants to an elite college could do the work and graduate in four years.

Of that remaining 50% the college will take only one out of every seven. What do you offer to the college community that will make you the One?

It is much more than merely being a very good student. Much more……”
